If you manage a clinic, then you know how powerful it is to have a clearly-defined and repeatable work process, especially when it comes to taking online payments. As part of our ongoing mission to improve user experience, we are excited to announce that we’ve made some great improvements to our Stripe integration which will go live today.
Here’s what’s new:
1. Clients can now pay invoices online and use Apple Pay to do so!
The feature you’ve been waiting for is finally here. Taking your online presence one step further, your clients can now pay their invoices online and have the payment saved to their client profile and your financial records with the click of a button.
You can now email an invoice directly to your clients, which will also include a “Pay now” button where they can pay with their card or digital wallet. Clients can use their pre-saved card details with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Microsoft Pay, from any device, which makes the payment process seamless. When the payment is done, you will instantly receive it to your Stripe account and all relevant records on Pabau will be updated. Please note: Stripe must be activated for this feature to be integrated with your Pabau account.
Another great benefit of using this feature, is that you will be able to directly process refunds from the clients “Financial” tab. If you choose to refund a payment which you have received online via Stripe, the client will receive their amount back to the card they’ve paid with.
Important note: If your receipt email template doesn’t have a merge tag, you need to activate this by going to Setup – Data – Client Notifications – Receipt – Choose/Edit template, and within the email template press “Merge tags” – Invoice – add the [INVOICE_URL] tag to anywhere where you want the invoice to be generated on the email.

2. Both you and your clients can now use saved cards with online and POS payments
Entering card details manually is no ones favourite task! With 67% of Pabau users using Stripe, we decided to cut off some manual work for you at the Point of Sale.
You client’s can now use your pre-saved card details from their computer and iPad to finalize Stripe payments, which means, once they select Stripe as a payment method, a new payment window will automatically open where they can choose one of their saved cards from their device. The payment will instantly be processed and of course, the option to manually enter any other card details will still be there if they need to pay with any other card.
If you are one of our clients who takes cash and then pays the money directly to Stripe, you can now do this via a saved card in POS.
3. As per the SCA rules coming into force on the 31st December 2020, we now fully support 3D Secure payments
For extra fraud protection, 3D Secure requires customers to complete an additional verification step with the card issuer when paying. From 31st December for many transactions, the customer will be redirected to an authentication page on their bank’s website, where they can enter a password associated with the card or a code sent to their phone. This process is familiar to customers through the card networks’ brand names, such as Visa Secure and Mastercard Identity Check.
The Strong Customer Authentication regulation in Europe requires the use of 3D Secure for card payments.
This feature is automatically setup and will display for your customers who have already activated their 3D Secure payment from their bank.
4. We have made improvements to the Stripe dashboard
We listened to your feedback and we are now passing through more data from the places payments are made in Pabau to Stripe, as such you will now see more information on the Stripe dashboard relevant to the payment for easy identification and matching.
